Every holiday season, St. Ignatius Parish generously supports children, teens, adults, and seniors in need through the Advent Giving Tree.
The Parish coordinates with local nonprofits, schools, and senior care programs to provide gifts to those especially in need at the Christmas season. Through the generosity of St. Ignatius parishioners, Advent Giving Tree annually distributes more than 500 gifts through partnerships with a dozen nonprofits, schools and senior care programs in San Francisco.
Two decorated Advent Trees will be put in the church the week of November 8th. Please take a colored label with gift tag, purchase the gift, and return the wrapped gift with colored label and tag to the box by the Advent Tree during one of the Sunday Masses. The gift may also be returned to the Parish office Monday through Friday. Each agency has a special color for easy identification and delivery.
Many agencies request gift cards for needy clients, but a few offer the opportunity for special requests for seniors or choices from the Amazon wish list on the internet.
The deadline for returning gifts is Sunday, December 5th. Volunteers will distribute the gifts to the various programs by December 8th.
