A Message From Fr. Greg | April 29, 2020

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Each morning I make my way to our church; check each shrine to make sure a candle is lit, stopping to pray at one or two of them; find a pew in a section of the church I’ve not sat in for a while; and pray for you, especially those whose faces I usually see in that section. I hold you and your intentions up to God and pray that you are physically and emotionally healthy and spiritually strong.

I am glad to share with you some very good news: Joe Naylor, CFRE, has joined the St. Ignatius Parish staff as our Director of Development. I could not be happier about that.

Joe has been doing development work for more than 30 years. He comes to us from the Diocese of San Jose, where he served as Chief Development Officer for two years. The prior seven years, Joe worked with the then-California Province of the Society of Jesus and the Northeast Province of the Society of Jesus in the role of Vice President for Advancement and Communications. For nearly two decades, he was the Vice President for Endowment Development for the YMCA of Los Angeles. Joe has a breadth and depth of experience in annual fund, major gifts, planned giving, capital campaigns and donor stewardship. He has also served on many boards and committees, including St. Camillus Pastoral Center in LA, St. Matthew Parish in Long Beach, and Brooklyn Jesuit Prep Nativity School.

Born in St. Louis, Joe is a graduate of St. Louis Preparatory Seminary South and Rockhurst Jesuit University. We are enormously blessed to have Joe join our community; his deep advancement experience and dedication to Jesuit institutions will be of profound value to St. Ignatius Parish.

I look forward to the opportunity for him to get to know you and you to get to know him. While we continue to shelter in place, like all staff, Joe remains available to you – feel free to reach him at jnaylor@usfca.edu. Please join me in welcoming Joe to St. Ignatius Parish!

Oremus pro invicem.
