In October, Pope Francis called upon the whole Church, throughout the world, to participate in a 3 year journey to discern where the Holy Spirit might be calling us in the future. In calling this Synod (the name comes from a Greek word for “walking together”), Francis has asked every diocese and Catholic community in the world to listen to the People of God, and to find ways to bring that listening forward, so that the gathering of the world’s bishops might hear.
The
Archdiocese of San Francisco, in response to the Pope’s call, has engaged The Catholic Leadership Institute to offer its Disciple Maker Index to all members of the Church. This nationally recognized survey—which can be taken in just a few minutes—provides input into the state of each parish, and helps create a baseline for further discussion in the engagement sessions the Archdiocese is planning later in the year. It is very important, and helpful both for the Synod and for our better understanding of our parish and Church, for all members of St. Ignatius to take this survey before the deadline of 13 February.
