This weekend’s first reading from Isaiah proclaims:
For Zion’s sake I will not be silent,
for Jerusalem’s sake I will not be quiet,
until her vindication shines forth like the dawn
and her victory, like a burning torch.
We strive to proclaim our own faith following the birth and baptism of our Lord in a similar fashion, with confidence, joy and exaltation. One of the ways we hope to do so as a parish is through our newly launched website, a kind of “digital Jerusalem'' where we not only illustrate our values as a faith community, but actively engage with them. In this awesome and expansive space, we also invite others, regardless of geographic location, to worship, discern and minister with us. And we will navigate, with your help, the “technological paradigm” that Pope Francis warns us of in his encyclical Laudato Si, prioritizing human connection over what he calls “contrived emotion which has more to do with devices and displays than with other people and with nature.”
Within the open gates of our new home online, we’ve made it easier to find a starting point for your own spiritual journey, whether it be through the many liturgies, ministries, educational programs or service opportunities offered by St. Ignatius Parish.
Please come and experience the new site for yourself. We want our website to be a reflection of us as a dynamic, welcoming and loving parish. And so, we are extremely grateful to hear your thoughts, feedback and suggestions. You can send them to me at [email protected].
With deep gratitude to all those who have contributed to this digital ministry,
Robert Nolan
