Br. Guy Consolmagno, S.J. director of the Vatican Observatory and president of the Vatican Observatory Foundation, is an astronomer and meteoriticist. A native of Detroit, MI, he earned his B.S. and M.S. from MIT, a Ph.D. in planetary science from the University of Arizona, and was a postdoctoral research fellow at Harvard and MIT. Br. Consolmagno, S.J. also served in the U.S. Peace Corps (Kenya) and taught university physics at Lafayette College before entering the Jesuits in 1989.
