Welcome to St. Ignatius Parish

A Jesuit parish, we are a welcoming community
of families, young adults, empty nesters, single professionals, retirees, and more, from all over
San Francisco and the greater Bay Area.  The spirituality of our patron, St. Ignatius Loyola, inspires us as we seek to grow in relationship with Jesus, in gratitude for all God has given us and in generosity, in service to others.

As you click through our website, you’ll see
that there are so many ways to get involved and become a part of our community.

We hope you join us!

Advocacy

Advocacy is an activity that aims to influence decisions with social, economic and political systems and institutions. It is distinct from direct service in that it seeks to address the root cause of social injustice.

After a series of talks on the issues of immigration, ecological justice, human trafficking, environmental justice, and restorative justice, parishioners were invited to participate in a discernment process to choose a justice issue for the parish. Parishioners reflections were shared with the Advocacy Committee, who selected human trafficking because it had the most votes, was a clear cut issue about slavery; and the parish had local groups to partner with on the issue. The committee is in the process of putting together a multi-year plan of action.
