St. Ignatius Choral Ministry About the Saint Ignatius Choral Ministry |
| WHO: | Parishioners of any age, profession or background, with an appreciation of music and a gift for song. Vast musical experience is not required, nor do members need to know how to sight-read. As long as you can carry a tune, and have a generous heart, you've passed the audition. | ||||||
| WHAT: | We sing traditional, four-part Christian choral music from varied musical periods, geared to the abilities of a small, volunteer ensemble. We strive to ensure that all this music is easy-to-medium in difficulty, so singers with a good ear can learn the music during our rehearsals. Members can bring a personal recording device to rehearsal, to allow them to practice on their own at home. Our goal is to have about half of our music from Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods; the other half is drawn from 20th and 21st Century Modern / Traditional choral repertoire. | ||||||
| WHEN: |
| WHERE: | Practices are currently held in the Lower Choir Room, in the space formerly known as the Child Care Room, in the Northwest corner of the church. To get there from the corner of Parker and Fulton, go North on Parker Street until you get to the back of the church. Proceed around the back of the building to the right. You will see a stairway leading down. The door at the base leads into the Lower Choir Room. | ||||||
