Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

The Rite of Christian Intiation of Adults (RCIA) is an eight-month religious formation program for adults who wish to join the Catholic Church. Participants examine their faith while learning about the Catholic tradition. Through weekly classes, the shared experience of weekly Mass, special liturgies and community service, candidates examine and deepen their faith lives, while learning about the Catholic tradition. RCIA begins each year in September and continues through May.

How You Can Get Involved

Each RCIA candidate walks in this journey of faith with a sponsor, an adult Catholic who agrees to participate in all of the RCIA activities with their candidate, especially the major events which take place in December, February and April. Serving as a sponsor is a wonderful way to refresh your knowledge of Catholic practices and traditions, while exploring anew your relationship with God.

Initial Interview Form

Applicants to the RCIA program are asked to provided some background information about themselves.

There are two ways in which you can submit your information: electronically or on paper:

  1. To choose electronic submission, you will need: (a.) Microsoft Word; and (b.) the ability to send an e-mail with a file attachment.
     
  2. To choose paper submission, you will need: (a.) a PDF file viewer application (such as Adobe Acrobat Reader) or Microsoft Word; and (b.) a printer.

  1. Save a copy of the interview form Word file to your local disk.
    (How do I do this?)

  2. Open the Word file and fill in your answers.

  3. Send your updated Word file as an e-mail attachment.

  1. View and print the interview form.
    Adobe Acrobat Reader, or other PDF file viewer, is required to view the form; or you may view and print the Word file instead of the PDF file.

  2. Fill out the printed form with your answers.

  3. Mail or deliver the completed form to:
