Are you hurting and confused after an
abortion, even one that was years ago?
An abortion can be one of the most traumatic experiences a woman can have. Both before and after an abortion, feelings of pain and pressure are common, not only for the woman, but for the father of the unborn child, grandparents and close friends. At the time abortion seemed the only answer. There was pressure and no support. It was legal. It seemed sensible - but now the decision hurts. For Catholics, the pain of abortion is intensified by a sense of alienation from God and the Church |

"In desperation I picked up a brochure in the
back of the Church. There had to be
some way to get the help I needed.
Someone had to understand this pain! That's
how I found you, now I have hope."
"Why was no one there to rescue me? Why did the Doctor ignore my tears? Those tears were silent screams for help!" "When the immediate relief of abortion wears off, you are overcome by the silent reality of death. This reality turns into incredible pain you have to escape. No one understands... till now!" "I cannot believe how good it feels to talk about these things with someone who really understands. "There is not time to be free from my own drama. The pain is ail around me. Thank you for being there when I go back to face the source of all this darkness. |

Rachel mourns for her children;
she refuses to be consoled because her children are no more. "Cease your cries of mourning. Wipe the tears from your eyes. The sorrow you have shown shall have its reward. There is hope for your futures. JEREMIAH 31:15-17 |
is a ministry sponsored by the Respect Life Commission of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, and is available to anyone who wishes this service regardless of their faith background. While the Church has always spoken out against abortion, it also offers love, understanding and forgiveness. Most Project Rachel services are offered without fee. If there is a need, referral can be made to a professional counselor who will charge on a sliding scale.
