Annual Commitment Program

A Message from Your Pastor
Fr. Charles R. Gagan, S.J.

St. Ignatius Church: a community of faith, doing God's work.
This paraphrase of our mission truly captures the spirit of St. Ignatius Parish. Last year, when we celebrated the parish's 10th Anniversary with a special liturgy, I was moved by the procession of parishioners, each person representing one of the more than 25 ministries that are St. Ignatius Parish. As I watched, I truly understood the impact that St. Ignatius Parish has on the community through its members when they generously share their time, talent and treasure in service to God.

Because you, our members, are willing to share your time and talent with the parish, we can offer numerous programs and services -- Children's Faith Formation, Shelter Meals, Helping Hands, Ministry to Nursing Homes, just to name a few. These programs help us serve God by serving each other, demonstrating the presence of God among us.

Each year, we ask the members of our parish to make a written financial commitment to the parish. Making a commitment gives you the opportunity to make a meaningful and tangible impact the parish and the community it serves. Responsible planning of the parish budget depends on having a steady and reliable weekly offering. By making a financial commitment each year, you enable the parish to continue to provide the activities and programs that the community values.

Please give as generously as you can to the Annual Commitment Campaign. Your gift, no matter the size, does make a difference!

Frequently Asked Questions:

What is an annual commitment?
It is your weekly offering, pledged on an annual basis. It is not a gift in addition to what you give the parish weekly. As a way to thank God for our blessings, we return a portion of our gifts to our parish and community.

Why is the commitment card important?
By using the commitment card, you are instructing the parish on the intended amount of your annual support and your preferred method of payment. This knowledge helps the parish staff and Finance Committee plan and budget for St. Ignatius Church. In addition, making a written commitment gives you the opportunity to consider your own financial situation and make a decision as to how much you will give to your parish over the following year.

What is my contribution used for?
Just like any organization, St. Ignatius Church has ongoing expenses such as salaries, facilities maintenance and the cost to run its programs and services. St. Ignatius relies on its parishioners as the main source of income. We do not receive funds from USF, the Jesuit community, the Archdiocese or any other entity.

What about the Sundays I'm not at St. Ignatius Church?
We ask you to make an ongoing commitment to St. Ignatius, whether or not you are at Mass. To make this easier, consider participating in ParishPay, our automatic giving program that deducts your contribution from your bank account or credit card once each month (click here for more information).

How much should I give?
The amount of your commitment is entirely dependent on your own financial situation. At St. Ignatius, the average commitment is $20 per week, but you must evaluate your own circumstances. Some questions to consider as you make this decision: "Do my spending habits reflect my values? How do I invest in those things most important to me?"
