The hallmark of St. Ignatius Parish is that we strive to be a community of faith, doing God's work. Each year, hundreds of parishioners share their gifts of time and talent to serve the parish and the larger community. We encourage you take a look at the opportunities on this list and consider how you can share your gifts and live your faith by serving others.

FEATURED OPPORTUNITIES

Shelter Meal Program
Twice per month (2nd & 4th Saturdays), volunteers prepare dinners for the homeless in Fromm Hall, behind St. Ignatius Church; and serve the dinners at a number of local shelters.

Monthly Food Drive
Once per month, deliver food that has been collected at the parish to St. Agnes Food Pantry.

Rebuilding Together -- April 28, 2007
Spend a day repairing, renovating and landscaping a neighborhood school or center.

RCIA Sponsors
Fully-initiated and active Catholics are needed to serve as sponsors for individuals who wish to become Catholics. Training is provided.

Parish Office Receptionist
Answer phones, welcome visitors and perform a variety of office tasks on Thursday or Friday afternoons, 1:00-5:00pm.

Parish Lending Library - Now Open!
Help needed with labeling, filing and repairing donated books for our new Lending Library.

Stewardship Committee
Help devise ways to engage parishioners and encourage their participation in and support of parish activities.

Helping Hands
Parishioners helping one another in times of need: a ride to the doctor, a meal for a new mom, grocery shopping for the home-bound.

Ministry to Nursing Homes
Share time and companionship with residents of local nursing homes through one-to-one visits and group events.

Ministries of Hospitality

Greeters:
Welcome parishioners and visitors to our worshiping community at the weekend Masses.

Hospitality Hour Coordinators:
Help provide a place to gather for fellowship after Sunday morning Masses.
-- Prepare coffee & breakfast treats (1/2 hr. before Mass)
-- Bring juice or breakfast treat (drop off prior to Mass)
-- Light clean up: clear trays and wipe down the service area.
Participate one Sunday each month or on a specific date during the summer that works best for you.

Support the local SVDP programs by assisting with clothing drives; making bag lunches on the first Saturday of each month; bringing bag lunches from home to church on the fourth Saturday of the month.
